Amazon's Echo Show Includes a Built-In Touch Screen

Set to hit the USA market on 28th June, priced $230, the Echo Show has the same Alexa voice assistant as the Amazon Echo and Echo Dot, and features a nifty 7in touchscreen.

Building on the existing library of home voice commands offered in previous Echo products, now you can ask Alexa to play music and the Show will display music lyrics on the screen.

Amazon unveiled a voice-controlled camera, the Echo Look, last month alongside an app that recommends outfits for users. It sparked off rumours that the online retailer could have resorted to it to reduce inventories ahead of the launch of next-generation Amazon Echo codenamed Knight and now said to be called Echo Show. The Echo Show details will be posted as soon as it became available in the market.

It will be interesting to see whether this functionality is increased in the future to allow it to make voice calls outside of the home. The Echo Show will have video calling support as well. Amazon started taking pre-orders for the new $229.99 Amazon Echo Show with screen online. Amazon says in most case you'll use video calling, but Drop In is there so you can easily check in with an elderly relative, let the family know dinner is ready, or check a camera in the nursery.

Paul Pierce says the Celtics should trade the No. 1 overall pick
Many believe the future of Isaiah Thomas is uncertain after the Boston Celtics got the No. 1 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft . Despite this, there are no worries for Thomas who is the Celtics' main playmaker for almost three seasons now.

Echo Show has eight microphones and beam-forming technology so it can hear you from across the room-even while music is playing. Amazon will give you a $100 discount if you buy more than one to make that easier as well (use the code SHOW2PACK at checkout).

Users with the Alexa App, an Echo, Echo Dot, or Echo Show will be able to send and receive voice calls and messages when the feature is enabled. The popularity of virtual assistants across all device types is also expected to grow this year, with 23.1% more usage of assistants like Alexa, Siri, Google Now and Cortana.
