'Big Bang Theory' spinoff 'Young Sheldon' releases first trailer

The show, Young Sheldon, which stars Iain Armitage, 8, in the lead role, follows the early years of the genius physicist.

After nearly a decade of loving the idiosyncrasies of Sheldon Cooper in The Big Bang Theory, we now have a chance to look at his origin story.

Things aren't easy at home, either.

But Ian Armitage (previously seen in Big Little Lies) strikes gold as Young Sheldon, who perfects the character's social awkwardness and cuteness to the T. His father George (Lance Barber) is a jock who looks at his son like he's an alien. (Montana Jordan) and his twin sister Missy (Raegan Revord) at all, especially now that he's in the same grade as George.

The half-hour comedy will play after "The Big Bang Theory" on Thursdays this fall on CBS. It's created by Big Bang's co-creator Chuck Lorre and showrunner Steve Molaro.

The facilities on the training ground and the stadium will put the team and the club at the last level". It's as simple as that. "The ones that needed to play 90 minutes got to play, we got no injuries".

There has also been news that the pilot episode for the series will be directed by Iron Man'sJon Favreau, but looking at the IMDb listing, there hasn't been anyone listed as director yet. Jim Parsons is also an executive producer with his partner in production and love Todd Spiewak.

The Big Bang Theory might trade on geek jargon and canned laughter, but its upcoming spinoff promises more heart - at least judging by the first-look trailer.

Speaking to advertisers at the network's Upfront presentation at Carnegie Hall, Parsons described the show as "a little bit 'Wonder Years, ' a little bit 'Doogie Howser'".

One thing we don't know is if we're going to see the origin of "bazinga".

"Young Sheldon" is filmed single camera instead of multi-camera, and unlike "The Big Bang Theory" will have no laugh track.
