Boy, 8, beaten unconscious days before days before killing himself

Boy, 8, beaten unconscious days before days before killing himself

Some step over him, while others point, nudge and kick him in the footage released by the school yesterday. She said she doubts she would change the manner of Gabriel Taye's death but might add other contributing factors to the case file. Two days later, Taye hanged himself with a necktie in the bedroom of his Cincinnati apartment.

School officials never told the mother of an 8-year-old OH boy who killed himself that another student had thrown him against the wall two days earlier and knocked him unconscious in an attack recorded by a surveillance video, attorneys for the boy's mother said Thursday.

On Friday, Cincinnati Public Schools released 23 minutes of the January 24 video from Carson Elementary School that shows Gabriel Taye on the restroom floor, not moving, for six minutes as more than a dozen students walk by him.

Cincinnati Public Schools had said that the boy's mother was asked to pick him up and take him to a hospital "to be checked out".

The demonstrators outside Carson Elementary School on Friday carried signs with slogans that said, "Say no to bullying" and "Honk for Gabe". Doctors said he had a stomach virus and sent him home, attorney Carla Leader said.

Then a student in the red and gray walks past the restroom, checks outside the double doors and walks back to the bathroom.

In January, Cornelia Reynolds discovered that her 8-year-old son, Gabe Taye, hanged himself from his bunk bed.

The Hamilton County coroner said she is reopening the investigation into Gabriel's suicide. That day, he would come home from school, go to his room and take his own life. "The article also portrays other students in the video as 'aggressors.' Video evidence does not support this characterization", school officials said.

Rescue operations by operatives of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Lagos State Ambulance Service and the National Emergency Management Agency are on-going.

Gabe became ill the night after the bullying incident, and his mother took him to the hospital.

His devastated mum explained how her little boy took his own life after suffering at the hands of bullies and an OH coroner has now reopened the investigation into her son's death.

Her 9-year-old daughter, Jericka, said she has been bullied as recently as this week, when another girl smacked her. His life was not only stolen from him, but from those of us who expected to watch him grow up and enjoy life. When Gabriel arrives, he "appears to shake hands" with the assailant, but the boy in the red and grey coat yanks Gabriel to the ground and "appears to celebrate and rejoice in his behaviour" while Gabriel lay motionless, as Karaguleff details.

But school officials said in a statement a school nurse called Reynolds to pick Gabriel up from school and take him to the hospital.

No charges have resulted from the investigation. "Him going to the nurse's station or him not wanting to go to school, that was his way of trying to communicate with me. 'That's why this is so frustrating for her, not knowing what really happened in that school".

In a statement, a CPS media representative said the school district shared the "video with police investigators at the time of the incident".

"No parent should ever have to question the transparency of school officials when it comes to the health and safety of their child", said a statement from Ohio Senate President Larry Obhof, Republican of Medina, Ohio, and Sen. "His vitals are fine, he's fine and she chose to come to the school to get him to make sure he was okay and she took him home", Branch said.
