EBRD to invest in West Bank and Gaza

EBRD to invest in West Bank and Gaza

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) forecast stronger growth this year and next across its regions of operations.

GDP growth in Armenia slowed from 3% in 2015 to 0.2% in 2016, driven by a decline in construction and agriculture, EBRD says.

Economic growth is expected to pick up across the EBRD regions this year and next, supported by higher oil prices and Russia's recovery from recession, said the Regional Economic Prospects report.

Ultimately, the Ministry expects Russian GDP growth to reach 2% in 2017, surpassing both the EBRD and International Monetary Fund forecasts.

Micron Technology, Inc. (MU) Position Raised by Brick & Kyle Associates
Finally, IFC Holdings Incorporated FL acquired a new stake in shares of Micron Technology during the first quarter worth $210,000. Maximum and minimum EPS estimate for the current quarter is projected at $0.89 and $0.82, respectively, according to 19 analysts.

The Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) and now the European Union visa free regime, granted in March 2017, are contributing to improved investor confidence and providing better access to the European Union market, said the report.

The EBRD evaluated positively the restructuring process, which state-owned power producer company, KESH, and electricity distribution company, OSHEE, are undergoing. It indicated that in addition to stabilizing oil prices, Russian Federation has benefited from increased capital flows into its bond and equity markets, including in the first months of 2017. "The economic outlook for the region remains materially affected by terrorism, geopolitical tensions and the refugee crisis". Greece is expected to return to growth as reforms advance further and business confidence gradually improves. The forecast for Moldova was upped from 2.5% to 3% growth and that for Kyrgyzstan - from 2.6% to 3.9%.

That would mark an improvement from growth of 1.8 percent seen in 2016. "Consumption will continue to stimulate growth in 2017 and 2018, backed by a rise in the minimum income and wages in the public sector, which are part of the electoral promises of the ruling political party - the Social Democratic Party (PSD)", the EBRD said. In the southern and eastern Mediterranean region (SEMED), projected growth in 2017 has been revised downwards slightly, to 3.7 percent, owing to a worse-than-expected performance across all the countries of the region, but with national variations, read the statement. However, both Azerbaijan and Belarus are projected to remain in recession.
