Google Releases Android O Beta At Google I/O 2017

Google announced Android Go during its annual I/O conference in Mountain View California. Google says there are API restrictions with its iOS app, so functionality is a bit limited- you won't be able to set an alarm, for example. So it would not come as a shock if Google showed off its newest iteration of the system, called Android O. Google Lens is a new Google product that works through a smartphone's camera pretty much the way Samsung's digital assistant, the non-starter Bixby, does.

David Burke, VP, Google said, "There are more than 2 billion monthly active Android devices globally". Some features won't be out until later this year.

To cap off their I/O Conference this week, Google has announced a global roll-out for Google Home - previously only available in the USA and a few other markets.

Google used the conference to announce a software kit that will let developers build Assistant capabilities into robots, applications, and other computerized creations.

At the same Google I/O session, Google also detailed some interesting new ways that people will be able to make payments, both to vendors and retailers, and to one another through its first peer-to-peer operation.

Aamir Khan, Kajol, Rishi Kapoor and more attend Reema Lagoo's funeral
Among the Bollywood faces seen at Lagoo's funeral on Thursday were Aamir Khan with wife Kiran Rao, Rishi Kapoor and Kajol. She is survived by daughter Mrunmayee, who is also a theatre and film actress and theatre director.

Google had previously confirmed in an official statement that the beta for Android Nougat had already concluded and that all devices with the said OS have been updated to the current public version.

Android O also gets better battery efficiency which Google is providing it through Android Vitals.

Google Assistant can now work alongside Siri on your iPhone. With the new feature Suggested Sharing, Google Photos will not only remind you to share- it will automatically select the right photos and even suggest who you should send them based on who was in the photos. But another demo got an even bigger cheer: You can point the camera at the sign-in information on the back of a wireless router and Google Assistant will recognize the SSID and password and then actually sign the device into the network.

Android Go devices will also consist of specially-designed Google apps - like YouTube Go, Chrome and Gboard - to use less memory, storage space and mobile data.

The first change that we saw during today's keynote presentation at Google I/O was the introduction of Google Play Protect.
