Hannity's conspiracy theory pressures Fox News

Hannity's conspiracy theory pressures Fox News, Casper, Crowne Plaza Hotels, Ring, Peloton, Leesa Sleep, and USSA have all announced they are no longer advertising on Hannity in light of the pundit's continued push into the conspiracy.

Fox News Channel was forced to retract a fake news story - perpetuated by Hannity - Tuesday suggesting Rich, a former Democratic National Committee staffer, was killed in retribution for providing thousands of internal DNC emails to WikiLeaks.

Fox News, citing a single unnamed Federal Bureau of Investigation source, had reported that Rich, who was murdered previous year in Washington, D.C., was a potential source of internal DNC emails published by Wikileaks last summer, implying that he was assassinated for the leak. In fact, Rich was killed during a botched robbery.

Amid a growing number of advertisers bidding his show adieu, Fox News Host Sean Hannity will be replaced by colleague Kimberly Guilfoyle for the remainder of the week, and possibly Monday.

But the company, which caters to members of the US military and their families, says the move had nothing to do with pressure on Hannity's advertisers.

Hannity revealed today on Twitter that Fox advertisers may be facing pressure from activists to pull ads from his show.

Hannity is now the second Fox News to be targeted by advertisers this year, after over 90 companies dropped advertising on Bill O'Reilly's show The O'Reilly Factor over allegations of sexual harassment.

The government said a minute's silence would be held at all official buildings at 1000 GMT (6.00 a.m. Among those killed was eight-year-old Saffie-Rose Roussos, the youngest victim to be named so far.

Hannity slammed critics who "tried to get him fired" on Twitter, making it clear he had no intention of leaving Fox News anytime soon. A local Fox outlet then ran a story based on the investigator's comments, and Fox News followed with its own story that it later retracted.

But some supporters of President Trump have been pushing an alternate theory: that Rich stole the emails and gave them to WikiLeaks - and for doing so became the victim of an unsolved murder. No other factual evidence was there to back up such a ludicrous claim, and Rich's family even served Fox News with a cease and desist order to stop them from spreading such claims.

Mediate reports "The Five" co-host Kimberly Guilfoyle announced she'll be filling on for "Hannity" on Thursday and Friday as he takes the rest of the week off.

"We have no plans to advertise on Fox News for the foreseeable future", the company said in a statement.

"To the extent of my ability, I am not going to stop trying to find the truth", Mr. Hannity said, The Blaze reported Wednesday.

Hannity had been hyping an appearance by notorious internet criminal Kim Dotcom, who supposedly had "proof" that Rich was in communication with Wikileaks.
