Kremlin says reports Trump disclosed intelligence are

On Tuesday, Trump himself decribed the talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov as "successful".

In a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak, Trump disclosed intelligence about a planned Daesh (ISIS) operation, which was supplied by a USA ally, two officials with knowledge of the situation said.

Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov adjust his glasses during a press conference after a meeting with his Cyprus counterpart Ioannis Kasoulides at the foreign ministry in capital Nicosia, Cyprus, on Thursday, May 18, 201.

"Truly I get the impression that many United States media are working in this vein".

He joked that some USA media were acting like communist newspapers during the Soviet Union and not offering real news.

The reports came several days after the White House faced criticism for a possible security breach after it allowed a Russian news service photographer into the Oval Office to snap photos of Mr. Trump with Lavrov and Kislyak last week.

Trump's abrupt dismissal of James Comey last week stunned Washington . Green then added, "I do not do this for political purposes, Mr. Democrats were far less sparing in their criticism.

Thursday's comments were the first on the issue by Lavrov since his meeting with Trump at the White House and the subsequent furore over what was discussed.

"As far as I can recall, maybe one month or two months before the Trump administration had an official ban on laptops on airlines from seven middle Eastern counties and it was connected directly with the terrorist threat", Lavrov added.

Two U.S. officials said on Monday that Trump had disclosed highly classified information to Russia's foreign minister about a planned Islamic State operation, plunging the White House into another controversy just months into Trump's short tenure in office. He did not deny discussing classified information.

President Trump met with Russian officials last week in the midst of skeptics concerning the period at which he fired FBI Director James Comey. The intelligence was reportedly from "a US partner through an intelligence-sharing arrangement" and not authorized to be shared with Russia, US allies or even within much of the US government.

At the press conference, Lavrov also said Russian Federation would like to improve its relations with the European Union (EU).
