OnePlus 5 name and its Summer launch was recently confirmed by the company via a recent post published on OnePlus's Weibo account with a teaser image and a caption that reads, "Hey Summer!"

Readers are advised to take the information with a hefty pinch of salt as OnePlus has not officially confirmed anything about OnePlus 5 specs, price or its exact release date. OnePlus has said that the OnePlus 5 is going to be released this summer.

The phone won't be labelled OnePlus 4 because four is considered an unlucky number in China. After these, the company was expected to launch a device called - OnePlus 4, but that's not what's happening. Instead, the smartphone developer claims the device could be considered as a homage to the number 5 jersey of former National Basketball Association star Robert Horry, since a lot of OnePlus employees can be considered his avid fans.

If the pricing turns out to be true, then OnePlus 5 handset could be the second-cheapest Android smartphone to sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. Other specs listed include 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB or 128GB of UFS 2.1 internal storage. Reports also claim that the upcoming device will feature the same 16-megapixel front camera just like its predecessor. The company is expected to announce its next flagship quite soon and here we have some of the specifications that the phone will come with.

The company is also tipped to infuse the phone with the latest version of its proprietary Dash Charge technology, which allows the phone to charge quickly.

Media reports also suggest that OnePlus 5 would offer some interesting features and a few firsts in the segment.
