Trump Wants Michael Flynn Back in White House

While taking questions at a Thursday afternoon joint press conference between President Trump and Colombian President Michael Santos, Trump flat out denied that he requested former FBI Director James Comey to end the ongoing investigation into his former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

Miller's suggestion carries weight not just because of his extensive background at DOJ and in government, but also because he predicted that Comey left a paper trail of his interactions with Trump.

The current Russian ambassador to Washington, Sergey Kislyak, has been a focus of the investigations into ties between President Donald Trump's associates and Russia during the campaign.

But he quickly repeated a morning tweet when he described the entire Russian Federation matter this way: "The entire thing has been a witch hunt".

Deputy Atty. Gen. Rod Rosenstein knew James B. Comey was about to be fired before writing his scathing memo to President Trump about the Federal Bureau of Investigation director, senators said Thursday.

Asked if he thought he had committed a crime or impeachable offense, the president said "it's totally ridiculous, everyone thinks so". On Wednesday, the president reportedly interviewed four candidates for Comey's former position at the White House. He has said at the point he left government, he had seen no such evidence to collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation; but he told lawmakers that as a private citizen, he has no window into any of the ongoing congressional or federal probes.

Ivanka Trump to take part in presidential trip
That's an echo of Trump's predecessor Barack Obama, who addressed Muslims in Cairo in his first major speech on foreign soil. While some Middle East leaders will likely greet Trump warmly, he could receive a far cooler reception in Europe.

This was one of several interactions that Comey believed jeopardized the FBI's independence, the Times reports, and he instructed the president on the proper way to receive details about investigations: have the White House counsel send inquiries to the Department of Justice. He then said "the wall" would help stop the flow of Colombian narcotics into the United States, referring to his promised U.S. -Mexico border barrier. "I hope you can let this go".

Trump said the issue is dividing the country and he wanted to get to work running the country.

"We're going to have a director who's going to be outstanding, I'll be announcing that director very soon".

He added, "When I made that decision, I actually thought that it would be a bipartisan decision because you look at all of the people on the Democratic side, not only the Republican side, that were saying such awful things about Director Comey".

The press conference was also one of Trump's last opportunities to speak on the record to the American media before his first trip overseas as president later this week. The response, in a word, is heartening. What does that mean for you?
