Turkish foreign minister says wants US envoy McGurk changed

At least two people were arrested and nine people were injured.

A congressional aide told The Associated Press that two members of Erdogan's security detail were detained on the scene Tuesday by diplomatic security agents. He added that some members of the pro-Erdogan group were carrying firearms, which made it more hard for police to contain the scene. Video shows Erdogan supporters and bodyguards flooding through the police line and beating protesters on American soil. While protesters chant across the street, Erdogan says something from inside the vehicle to a suited bodyguard standing outside his door.

The Turkish Embassy, meanwhile, said protesters had "aggressively provoked Turkish-American citizens who had peacefully assembled to greet the president", and that the pro-Turkish elements had "responded in self-defence".

A State Department spokeswoman said, referring to the incident, the United States is communicating concerns to Turkey's government "in strongest possible terms".

A brawl erupted outside the Turkish ambassador's residence in Washington D.C. on Tuesday as Erdogan was visiting the embassy.

The minister said Trump's new US administration seems more understanding about Turkey's security concerns.

"If these terrorist organisations constitute a threat towards our country, we would do what is necessary by exercising our rights under the rules of engagement".

It took place just hours after Erdogan met with President Donald Trump at the White House. "The United States recognizes this inviolability, which provides reciprocal protection for the United States overseas".

Antonio Conte's wife in emotional tears as Chelsea praise their manager
Conte said it was normal for a team to lose concentration at this stage of the season but he has confidence in his team. We are not happy with the goals conceded, but we are pleased to get the win.

Later, speaking to reporters at the Turkish embassy, Erdogan underlined Turkey's concerns about the YPG, which Ankara regards as an extension of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militant group fighting a decades-old insurgency in southeast Turkey.

"We should throw their ambassador the hell out of the United States of America", McCain told MSNBC's "Morning Joe" on Thursday.

"We witnessed what appeared to be a brutal attack on peaceful protesters", a police official said Wednesday.

President Tayyip Erdogan said on Thursday Turkey could not lift a state of emergency imposed in the aftermath of a failed coup last July until the country was completely calm.

"We intend to assure that there is accountability for anyone involved in this assault", he said, adding that the police were working closely with the State Department and the Secret Service.

Turkey also accused the protestors of belonging to a terror group known as the PKK.

McCain said "this kind of thing can not go unresponded to diplomatically".
