Former FBI Director James Comey to testify in Senate June 8

Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) says he doubts fired FBI Director James Comey will tell a Senate intelligence panel that he was pressured to drop a probe of ex-national security adviser Michael Flynn's ties to Russian Federation.

The Senate Intelligence Committee is aiming to have its hearing next week, although no date has been set.

At a Wednesday briefing, press secretary Sean Spicer said inquiries about the Russian Federation investigation must be directed to Marc Kasowitz, another of Trump's personal attorneys.

In addition to his spoken testimony, it has been reported that Comey kept a written paper trail regarding his conversations with Trump.

Associates have said Comey wrote memos describing certain interactions with Trump that gave him pause in the months after the election, including details of a dinner in which he claimed the president asked him to pledge his loyalty, and a request to shut down the investigation of Flynn.

Comey's testimony had not been scheduled by Wednesday afternoon, but sources said it could happen next week.

I mean, I believed in the second set, as well, that I can turn around the match and I was still believing until the last point'. Makarova won out 6-2 6-2 in just one hour and 22 minutes Sunday, racking up six breaks of serve in the process.

The Comey memo caused alarm on Capitol Hill and raised questions about whether Trump tried to interfere with a federal investigation.

A DOJ spokesman declined comment on the potential personnel move.

During a White House press conference Tuesday, Spicer wouldn't say whether the list of contenders has been narrowed, adding that Trump "feels as though he's met with the right candidate he'll let us know".

"The committee welcomes the testimony of former director Comey, but does not have an announcement to make at this time", said Rebecca Glover, spokeswoman for Republican committee chairman Richard Burr.

Both Trump and multiple Russian officials have denied having ties during the 2016 presidential campaign, and Moscow has repeatedly denied any interference in the election as alleged by the US Intelligence Community. Mueller's separate probe could conceivably look at the circumstances surrounding Comey's firing.

The subpoenas were issued to Flynn Intel Group LLC, Flynn's firm.

Reuters reports that Comey made a decision to postpone his testimony before the House Oversight Committee until he has a chance to speak with Mueller, the head of the independent Russian probe. A spokesman for the Justice Department, the agency Sessions leads, told The New York Times that Sessions omitted the meetings based on direction from advisers and an FBI investigator, and because such contacts were "connected with his Senate activities".
