President Trump pulls America out of Paris Climate Agreement

Governor Jay Inslee says Washington state will continue to honor the goals of the Paris climate accord, despite President Trump's decision to withdraw from the worldwide agreement to reduce global carbon emissions.

But while European Union leaders from France, Germany and Italy signed a joint statement condemning the decision, the United Kingdom did not.

Technology leaders have voiced their dismay and disapproval of Donald Trump's decision to withdraw the U.S. from the Paris agreement.

In France, the Elysee presidential palace said newly-elected leader Macron had phoned Trump to say that "nothing was negotiable" in the Paris agreement.

The president wishes to re-enter a deal with better-negotiated terms.

Hua Chunying, a Chinese foreign ministry spokeswoman, said Friday China's adherence to the Paris Accord is a "responsibility shouldered by China as a responsible major country".

"The biggest significance is what this means for U.S. leadership in the world in the longer term". The second. He criticized the pact as a job-killer that put the United States as an unfair advantage.

Musk's decision came after Trump announced earlier Thursday that he was pulling the US out of the historic worldwide agreement that set global goals for cutting greenhouse gas emissions.

With the exception of war-torn Syria and Nicaragua, which insists the agreement isn't tough enough, every country in the world has signed on to its provisions. Unsurprisingly, the decision to remove the U.S. from the Accord, which was signed by 195 countries has not gone down well. "The Secretary-General remains confident that all other parties to the Paris agreement will continue to demonstrate vision and leadership, along with very many cities, states and businesses in the United States and around the world by working for the low-carbon, resilient economic growth that will create quality jobs and markets for 21st century economic prosperity", the statement by the UN Chief said.

Of those polled 69 per cent said they "like" or "strongly like" Jeremy Corbyn , bucking the national trend. He described the policy as a "cold and calculated attempt to pull the wool over people's eyes".

The island state's governor, David Ige, said in a statement Thursday that Hawaii was "already taking concrete steps to implement the Paris Accord" and will continue to do so. "I call on them, come and work here with us, to work together on concrete solutions for our climate, our environment".

The Paris accord had never included binding limits on the amounts of greenhouse gases that nations signing up to it could produce per year, Tabari recalled.

Fiji's prime minister said Trump's announcement was "deeply disappointing".

Democratic Senator Ed Markey of MA, a member of the Foreign Relations Committee and Environment and Public Works Committee, said with his decision, "Trump is breaking a promise to the world to combat climate change in order to keep an empty campaign promise to the coal industry". He said he was "disappointed" with the decision from Trump.

"We are deeply disappointed that the United States federal government has chose to withdraw from the Paris Agreement".

"We call on all other countries that are parties to the Paris Agreement to become even more vigilant in ensuring that the Paris Agreement achieves its goal, as the future of our children and this world depends on it", it added.

"Climate change is already placing a disproportionate burden on vulnerable communities around the world, generating severe storms, flooding, droughts and starvation", President and CEO of AJWS Robert Bank said, adding that the longer the U.S. denies climate change and "fails to take responsibility for its outsized contribution to global warming", the greater the risk posed to the world.

Members of The Elders, a group of independent leaders founded by South African President Nelson Mandela, condemned Trump's decision, saying USA withdrawal does not mean the demise of the Paris Agreement, and urged other signatories to continue to respect its provisions.
