White House seeks to wall off Russian Federation questions

WASHINGTON (AP) — A top communications aide to President Donald Trump has resigned, in what many inside and outside the White House see as the first shoe to drop before a wider overhaul.

Politico first reported Dubke's resignation.

Trump has privately pinned some of the blame for his administration's rough start on the White House's communications strategy.

President Trump, who is supported by the GOP, was assailed by a number of questions related to Russian Federation. In a letter to the administration and the FBI, Democratic lawmakers pointed to news reports that Kushner had not disclosed multiple meetings on his SF-86. The president was also grilled by the American media with his connections to the Russian ambassador based in Washington.

[S] ome of the sources close to Spicer warned that scuttlebutt about impending shakeups has been a feature of Trump's tenure in the White House since the beginning, and yet little has actually shaken up.

It's possible that in the future, there will be fewer press briefings led by White House communications staff, and instead there will be more press conferences with President Trump himself. While his departure day is still unknown, he resigned on May 18th in a private meeting with president Trump and offered to stay on until the President completed his first worldwide trip to ease the transition.

But Tamim skied to Jos Buttler and Mushfiqur holed to long on from successive Plunkett deliveries to halt the Tigers' momentum. We still had Shakib, Mahmudullah and Sabbir but we couldn't really go through those last six overs.

The president returned to his normal Twitter routine later in the morning by slamming Democrats over the probe into Russia's meddling in the 2016 election.

While overseas, Trump's longtime lawyer, Marc Kasowitz, joined a still-forming legal team to help the president shoulder the intensifying investigations into Russian interference in the election and Trump associates' potential involvement. The White House declined to comment, saying Cohen is not an employee of the administration.

And, even as Dubke was on the way out, there was increasing chatter that two longtime Trump loyalists - Corey Lewandowski, who managed Trump's campaign during its formative stages, and David Bossie, who served as deputy campaign manager in its later stages - were on their way back in. The president's son-in-law and future staffer reportedly suggested to Russia's ambassador, shortly after the election, that they establish a secure channel to communicate off of US radar.

"What your question assumes is a lot of facts that are not substantiated by anything but anonymous sources that are so far being leaked out", he told a news briefing.

Spicer was asked a number of questions.

As he has before, the president blew up the coherent message that his team had crafted and put Spicer in an impossible situation.
