Camilla and Charles appear in new photo to mark Duchess' 70th birthday

Shoulder to shoulder with her husband, the Duchess of Cornwall poses for an official portrait released to mark her 70th birthday tomorrow.

Camilla becomes a septuagenarian on Monday and celebrated with two parties over the last week.

The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall will return to their duties in Devon and Cornwall later in the week.

The royal couple seem very content, both in public and private, and it's clear that Camilla has made Charles very happy. Camilla has never chosen to use that title - presumably out of respect for Diana - and instead opted for the lesser title of "Duchess of Cornwell'". The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge along with their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte and even Prince Harry were all noticeably absent from the event.

Many of Camilla's personal friends, family members and even former staff were at the party too along with her ex-husband Andrew Parker-Bowles and her sister Annabel Elliot.

Several top clubs have shown an interest in signing the Portuguese midfielder this summer, so he is not short of options. As a result, he has been tipped to make a move away from the club this summer, even if it is on loan.

The society stylist, although officially retired from the salon, still sees his favourite clients privately and is the only man the Duchess trusts to tend to her locks.

On Thursday, she had enjoyed a garden party at Clarence House, where she wore a simple light-blue dress with an embellished bodice.

The photographer said: 'I'm honoured to document their royal highnesses the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall on this very important date. The photographer also added that in 2006, at their first meeting, he had discovered "a person is handsome and generous, with a wonderful sense of humor". She recently hosted a star-studded reception at Clarence House.

Royal Central will be providing special coverage of the Duchess of Cornwall's birthday throughout the day.
