Crews look for survivors of plane crash on Florida coast

Authorities initially said there were believed to be two people on board, but have since said that there may have been three passengers.

Action News Jax has been told the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are headed to scene of plane crash.

At around 11:00 p.m. last night, Historic City News was informed that a private aircraft had crashed in the area of Marineland on the St Johns - Flagler County border.

The plane's wreckage was found shortly after noon, deputies said. However, Strobridge said, anyone who sees any unusual looking metals should alert the NTSB, which is now in control of the crash scene and is handling the crash investigation. The Coast Guard said in a news release that the plane went down in the vicinity of Pellicer Creek, after taking off from Brunswick and heading to Ormond Beach.

The Flagler County Sheriff's Office started searching for the plane around 11 p.m. Thursday after at least one witness reported hearing a plane's engine sputtering. He says they're searching for survivors by air, sea and land. You always hope you can find people alive.

Revised health care bill draws GOP praise
The plan also keeps a provision from the House plan allowing states to opt out of the federal regulations completely. Medicaid spending remains a central issue, and many senators say they are still reviewing the changes in the bill .

Staly said crews have found the plane's wreckage. "It is clear one person is deceased inside the aircraft", Staly said.

"We have people in airboats, we have people above in a helicopter", Flagler County Chief Mark Strobridge said.

Crews from the Flagler and St. Johns sheriff's offices, St. Augustine police, the U.S. Coast Guard and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission are searching for the plane.

The FAA will provide updates as new information becomes available.
