D23 2017: THE LION KING Footage Was Incredible!

D23 2017: THE LION KING Footage Was Incredible!

Omega Underground first broke the news of Jackman's involvement in the Lion King remake, citing an insider on the project who confirmed he would be voicing the notorious villain Scar.

The clip featured African landscapes, wild animals and ended with the iconic "Circle of Life" moment where Rafiki introduces baby Simba on Pride Rock.

Jackman has completed his tenure as Wolverine in the X-Men franchise, so there's every possibility that he may be seeking a new franchise to hang his hat on.

And just like the Jungle Book, it all looks very, very real. However, that is highly unlikely.

Baltimore Orioles lose a heart breaker to open the second half
He is 0-1 with a 5.40 ERA in his only career appearance against the Cubs, and that was in 2014. "It's frustrating", Gausman said. He gave up two solo home runs: Albert Almora Jr. hit one in the third inning, and Addison Russell hit one in the fourth.

The film is now in production in the United Kingdom, and "cInematic ringmaster", director Tim Burton sent a video greeting, saying the 1941 animated classic is "one of my favorite of the Disney movies, and we are working to give this all the heart and emotion [of the original]".

In one of the only casting choices so far that carries over from the original, James Earl Jones will reprise his role of Mufasa. John Oliver has signed on the voice Zazu, and Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner play Timon and Pumbaa.

The Lion King is due out some time next year. Disney has yet to confirm this just yet, but with D23 now underway, we expect them to do so quite soon.

Disney also teased its live action remake of its animated classic Dumbo, which has been given a March 29, 2019 release date. Mulan is scheduled, as is Aladdin, which is being directed by Guy Ritchie for some reason, and starring Power Rangers highlight Naomi Scott. However, with the show set for release on July 19, 2019, the team still has a lot of work to do.
