Disney reveals Star Wars land model in advance of D23 Expo

On Thursday night (13 July) at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, Florida, company bosses unveiled what has been described as "the most ambitious land" that Disney has ever worked on.

In the exhibition, Disney's chairman showed the very intricate world of grassland, miniature people-like figures, and detailed buildings.

Disney fans are getting a closer look at what the two Star Wars-inspired lands opening at Disneyland and Disney World will look like. "All along, we have said this will be game-changing, and through the model we can begin to see how truly epic these immersive new worlds will be". The finished parks - set to open in 2019 - will span an area of 14 acres and are rumored to cost around $1 billion each.

It was therefore somewhat inevitable that Disney, as the kings of destination theme parks, would capitalise on the series' popularity with dedicated Star Wars lands.

You can share High Resolution Pictures through WhatsApp now
But now with this upgrade, photos will be shared with original size hence the original quality of the image will remain intact. This WhatsApp file transfer support was rolled out for iPhone users last month and refines the sharing of multiple photos.

Disney has released images and a video of a large-scale 3D model depicting the upcoming park.

The official description for the setting of Star Wars Land is as follows: "The remote village was once a busy crossroads along the old sub-lightspeed trade routes, but the prominence of the outpost has been bypassed with the rise of hyperspace travel".

Another wrote: 'There might be a tear of happiness shed when we visit this beauty'.

The D23 pavilion will remain throughout the weekend. The other ride will put people in the middle of a fight between the First Order and the Resistance. Plans for Star Wars lands were announced two years ago and promised "total immersion" that would see guests walk around and interact with random characters.
