The noise of hooves made the soldiers turn to look at Arya, and then it happened - Ed Sheeran was spotted as the one singing the song.

The "Shape of You" singer made his "Game of Thrones" debut as an unnamed soldier in the Season 7 premiere on Sunday.

He also posted a picture of himself on set alongside Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark, and Canadian Jeremy Podeswa, who directed the episode. While we saw her meet Sheeran's character in the middle of the premiere, it was an earlier scene involving Arya that had everybody talking. Although Arya was clearly planning on killing the soldiers in the small Lannister camp, she ultimately chose to spare their lives.

Arya calls out, "It's a pretty song".

She pointed to planning and capacity bottlenecks in the construction industry as well as at the level of regional authorities. Riots broke out in the city, with dozens of police officers injured by left-wing extremists.

Fans had mixed responses to Ed's appearance in the episode, taking to Twitter to share their opinions.

All this makes me wonder if we'll see Sheeran in a later episode and what other high-profile actors and celebrities could be making a cameo before the show is over. "It's just a TV show haha, I'm Ed Sheeran". "I've never heard of it before.' Ed Sheeran: 'It's on Spotify". So, you'll only have to wait a little over one month to buy the new episodes.

"Game of Throne" narrates the story of noble families tussling to have control of the most powerful political seat; the Iron Throne; while keeping watch on the "White Walkers" leading hordes of the undead towards the invasion from the North. The "Castle on the Hill" crooner will be playing Brendan, a hipster musician who steals Lisa's heart in the La La Land parody episode. According to Entertainment Weekly, executive producer David Benioff has been trying to get Sheeran on the show because Williams is a huge fan of his music.

This isn't his first foray into acting, however; Sheeran had a five-episode arc on FX's The Bastard Executioner, a 2015 medieval drama series that also starred Katey Sagal and Stephen Moyer.
