LaVar Ball: Lonzo Ball's shooting percentage will be fine

Unfortunately, the Lakers will be without Ball for the championship game against the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Lakers kept their prized rookie on the sideline against Portland after Ball suffered a mild calf strain in his right leg in the third quarter of Sunday's semifinal win over Dallas.

As the score suggested, the Lakers and Blazers were in for a high-scoring shootout, as both teams put up high scores for National Basketball Association games, while Summer League games only feature 10-minute quarters.

In six games, the Lakers point guard is averaging 16.3 points, 9.3 assists and 7.7 rebounds per game.

While there is some level of pride in winning a summer league championship, it's understandable the Lakers don't want to risk any aggravation.

Elor Azaria to be moved from military base to house arrest
He was convicted of manslaughter for killing an incapacitated terrorist and sentenced to 18 months in prison . Military judges are expected to rule on his appeal on July 30, Israeli media reported.

Walton told Lowe that this skill was something the Lakers targeted during the pre-draft process and was one of the deciding factors in drafting Ball.

Of course it starts with Ball, who's now the Summer League's all-time leader in assists per game. They shut down second-year rookie forward Brandon Ingram after he suffered cramps in his right leg at the end of the Summer League season opener.

The game will be interesting even without Ball.

According to the Los Angeles Daily News' Mark Medina, the Lakers still can't decide if Rondo fits into their plans. Ball played a total of 21 minutes. Without Kuzma, the Lakers would be nowhere the final four in the summer league. Kuzma was quoted saying, "I play with a chip on my shoulder" after being asked whether he should have been picked higher than 27 overall in the draft. "If he plays, how many minutes, we don't know". "I wanted to get back out there, but the training staff took care of me and I will be with them tonight and tomorrow and hopefully I'll be out there tomorrow". They led by 26 and cruised into halftime with a 62-40 advantage. He drained 5 of 7 shots, including 2 of 3 3-pointers, for 16 points. The Lakers are being cautious to avoid the risk of a more serious injury. With no deal in place, the Balls then debuted the ZO2 sneaker under their Big Baller Brand umbrella, with models retailing for $495.
