The U.S. police have warned parents about their kid's safety after popular social media app Snapchat introduced a new feature that maps users' movements and give details on their whereabouts, in anevidentthreat to their privacy and security, the media reported.

Snapchat's buzz around the update said, "Snapchatters on iOS and Android globally will have a new way to see what their friends are up to, what's happening around the world, and get inspired to go on an adventure".

"Snapchat automatically updated me and I wasn't aware that it was on, being that people in that moment could see what I was doing", said Maddie.

Snap Map is off by default. Even without profile information, users can see what people outside of their network of friends are snapping, including pictures and video connected to the location at the time of the post. Snapchat will be banned in our household, ghost mode or no ghost mode.

It will with whom you want to share your location.

The three-minute clip has been seen more than 25 million times - with many users echoing Sawalha's concerns.

"Children and young people are vulnerable for a number of reasons to being sexually exploited through the use of the internet and, in particular, social media". Third-party apps that work on both Android and iOS are one solution - Familonet Family Locator and Safety, Glympse, GeoZilla and Life360 are among the free or low-priced programs; all offer real-time location sharing, messaging and other features. Once inside a global map display, accessible from the viewfinder, can be used to locate stories based on location data, supporting the use of Bitmoji as placemarkers.

"My Story" is what just your friends see and "Our Story" is what you choose to submit to Snapchat and can potentially be made public.

"It's also not possible to share your location with someone who isn't already your friend on Snapchat, and the majority of interactions on Snapchat take place between close friends".

Add the people you want to include, select the amount of time you wish to be visible to them and tap the Share button.

That means ads within Snap Maps could be better positioned to get people to go to a brand-related location than ads placed elsewhere in Snapchat.
