Manchester City will not entertain offers for Chelsea transfer target Sergio Aguero

Manchester City will not entertain offers for Chelsea transfer target Sergio Aguero

The Argentine striker has struggled to win over City boss Pep Guardiola since his arrival at the Etihad.

Chelsea reportedly have a "serious and strong interest" in signing Argentinian striker Sergio Aguero from Premier League rivals Manchester City.

After missing out on landing Romelu Lukaku, the Blues are keeping tabs on other potential targets to bring to Stamford Bridge.

Sky sources say "it will be very hard for Chelsea to sign Aguero" but that their interest is real.

The Premier League champions have been linked with Real Madrid's Alvaro Morata and Torino's Andrea Belotti - but may end up signing a striker closer to home. That surprise came just weeks after Conte told Diego Costa, the club's top scorer last season, that he would not be in his plans at Chelsea in the future.

The prolific forward scored 30 goals in all competitions last season despite his playing time restrictions from January onwards, and so the 29-year-old evidently has more than enough to make City regret such a decision.

Speaking earlier this summer, the latter said: "I've read a lot of the speculation on this and it's ridiculous".

At a crucial stage of City's development, going into the second season of Guardiola's management, City are extremely reluctant to provide a rival team, especially one in the Premier League, with a world class striker like Aguero.

"My information is they do not want to sell Sergio Aguero".

Were it to happen, Sergio Aguero to Chelsea would be one of the biggest transfers ever seen in English football. There's never been a doubt about that.

Aguero was signed from Atletico Madrid for £38m in 2011 and has three years left on his current City deal. "It has never been in doubt".
