Reliance Jio (Rs. 500) 4G Feature Phone Images Leaked | Know Specs & Features

As indicated by a report by TechPP, the Jio feature smartphone will be sold under the Lyf mark; the company as of now offers cell phones under the Lyf name.

Like all feature phones, Jio's latest will also have an alphanumeric keyboard below the screen. The only hitch is that the feature phone is said to retail for Rs. 1,499 instead of Rs.500 which seems understandable considering the features of the phone. You will be happy to know that this feature phone has the ability to run Jio apps like JioTV and JioCinema.

This unknown SoC will be paired with 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card.

On the software side, the Jio feature phone is said to come with "KAI OS", a customised version of the HTML5-based Firefox OS. We are forced to acknowledge the credibility of this being a Jio device as soon as the phone is switched on and we see the Jio logo flanked by the Digital Life moniker. The images suggest a candy bar design, which is pretty much the standard for feature phones. It will also have an integrated voice assistant with support for Indian languages.

The phones also support dual cards hence the phone has dual sim ports. It is expected that Reliance Jio will launch its feature phone with the price tag of Rs.500. As connectivity options, the device supports 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, GPS. In addition, a report by Telecom Talk claims there will be provision for Wi-Fi tethering too, meaning a user will be able to connect multiple devices using the handset's Internet connection; the TechPP report, on the other hand, says the handset will have app-specific USB tethering. Well, this will all open when the phone launch.

The leaked images further show a dedicated app store called Kai OS Plus, which could allow users to download popular apps like Facebook and WhatsApp.

The phone will totally disrupt the Indian mobile market since phones with similar features are available only above the price range of Rs. 3000.

Reliance Jio's growth was exponential in the initial months of its launch but has gradually slumped.
