US Capitol Police said: "The US Capitol Police are continuing to investigate a suspicious vehicle located at Second Street and Independence Avenue SE".

Celtics officially sign Paul Pierce, allowing him to retire with team
He played for the Celtics for 15 seasons before playing for the Nets (2013-14), Wizards (2014-15) and Clippers (2015-17). Paul will officially leave the game with averages of 19.7 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game.

Police used explosives to open the vehicle's trunk and, after a long investigation that disrupted traffic, determined that there was nothing suspicious inside.

Police have yet to release information on the driver - but they are also believed to have been injured, reports the Washington Examiner.

Officers are understood to have used an explosion to gain access to the trunk of the auto.

One person was shot and another was stabbed in incidents in Northeast and Southeast Washington.

Police have said the incident is not terror related.
