'The Walking Dead' stuntman Jon Bernecker dead after on-set accident

John Bernecker, a veteran stunt performer and fight choreographer, fell more than 20 feet off a balcony onto a concrete floor, suffering a serious head injury. He was immediately rushed to Atlanta Medical Center where he received treatments in the hospital's intensive care unit, but he passed away due to blunt force trauma by 6:30 p.m. EDT of the same day. This could mean that their respective characters Simon, Jadis, Enid, and Jadis will play a bigger part in the show's upcoming installments.

LifeLink Foundation, a nonprofit organ donation network, said Bernecker's "loved ones have ensured his legacy will live on, not only through the personal and professional contributions he made during his life, but also by their generous decision to allow John to save lives as an organ donor". It will also feature the TV series' 100 episode that will be helmed by executive producer Greg Nicotero who consistently directed all the season premiere since season 4.

"This tragic and untimely loss of a member of the SAG-AFTRA family is heartbreaking, and our thoughts are with his loved ones and his friends and colleagues in the Georgia production community", it said.

In a statement, the USA cable network behind The Walking Dead, AMC, said: "John Bernecker's family has decided that he will be removed from life support, following organ donation".

President Donald Trump said on July 5 that China hadn't done enough to pressure its neighbor, after Pyongyang successfully tested its first intercontinental ballistic missile.

Bernecker's IMDb page shows he has worked on several blockbuster movies, including "Logan" and "Fantastic Four".

"The Walking Dead", the often-gory AMC show based on a comic series about people fighting to survive a zombie apocalypse, is filming its eighth season.

Michael D'Aquino, a spokesman for the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration, says the agency has opened an investigation. "Please send prayers to his family and friends".
