This Broadchurch Favourite Has Been Cast As The New Doctor Who!

The Doctor will FINALLY be played by a woman and the actress for the job is none other than Jodie Whittaker who played Beth Latimer on Broadchurch.

And while of course there were many opinions on that in general, we only care about one, and it belongs to the daughter of Jenny Trout.

The 35-year-old actress will take over the reins from the current Doctor, Peter Capaldi, in a December after he "regenerates" into the 13th incarnation of the character. Trust us, it's worth the 40-second wait.

But since the long-running British series debuted in 1963 and then was re-booted in 2005, the Doctor has traditionally been a man.

Television personality Piers Morgan tweeted: "Very disappointed Dr Who is now a woman".

Because frankly, we could all use a dose of happiness in our lives without marring it with, well, adult concerns.

Major insurance groups call part of health bill 'unworkable'
But that would cause premiums to spike for those looking those who are sick and need more comprehensive policies. GOP leaders have insisted they are on a "rescue mission". "It would trigger the death spiral, like, overnight".

After months and months of speculation, the identity of the thirteenth individual to step into the role of the titular hero in Doctor Who has now been revealed.

"I want to tell the fans not to be scared by my gender", she said.

Because this is a really exciting time, and Doctor Who represents everything that's exciting about change. While the news of a female Doctor came as a pleasant surprise to many, some wondered if the choice was deliberate, or as a reaction to fan campaigning.

The final episode of the Moffat and Capaldi era is a special scheduled for Christmas Day. Whittaker will work alongside Broadchurch creator Chris Chibnall, who takes over as executive producer. Her audition simply blew us all away.

He added that there had been "a lot of secret-keeping" in the run-up to the announcement, while Whittaker said she had told "a lot of lies" to keep the news under wraps.
