WhatsApp Is Apparently Getting YouTube Support

Clicking on the link launches the YouTube app to play the video.

As of now, one can only share the YouTube videos as a link. Now we have no use if the feature will also be coming to Android and Windows Phone platforms, but this might change in the future since the Youtube playback feature is in its early developments.

We recently heard that WhatsApp had started to support more file types and now it looks like more features are coming to the messaging app.

You can pinch on the Picture in Picture mode in order to expand it, or you can open the video in a new WhatsApp section to view it in full screen mode.

This feature is now in process internally and is expected to be launched for people having big screens.

The pinned chats feature which is already available for Android users, basically allows user to highlight their favourite chats so that it is easily accessible all the time and users doesn't have to go through the pain of going through host of messages to find any particular chat. It is available for iPhone Beta testers.

The WhatsApp team is now testing internally a new In App Youtube Playback function which allows users to play videos of Youtube shared links within the application. We can't verify this info at this point, but if it's true, we expect that it would make its way to Android also.
