White House Releases Staff Payroll Figures

Analysis of the 2016 annual report by the American Institute think-tank employed the same methodology and found that women earned 10.75% less than men during Barack Obama's final year in the White House.

More than 40 percent of White House staffers earn in excess of $100,000 a year, according to new salary details released Friday. Currently, there are five staffers dedicated to Melania Trump vs. 24 staffers who served Michelle Obama Starting in 2009, President Obama came under fire for hiring special initiative czars.

The pay gap, which sees them paid 80 cents on the dollar compared to men, is wider than the national average of 82 cents, the Labor Department has said.

It also emerged that half of female staffers make $70,500 or less per annum, as opposed to 50 per cent of men who make $95,000 or more.

This gap, according to CNN, exists largely because women in Trump's administration have filled lower-ranking jobs.

A White House staff salary document shows that 22 of Trump's aides, including some of the best-known to the public, are earning $179,700. As far as the number of women and men working in the White House, the ratio is close to an even split with 47% of staff being women and 53% men. The White House often won't confirm the president's agenda when he visits places like the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, and Mar-a-Lago.

In March, Trump revoked the Obama-era mandate just days before Equal Pay Day on April 4.
