The team announced Tuesday that it had fired defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr. after almost three seasons with Oakland.

The Raiders had seen enough of a supremely talented unit continuing to underperform, and coach Jack Del Rio made a decision to fire defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr.

"After careful thought, I have made a hard decision to part ways with Ken Norton, Jr.as defensive coordinator", said Head Coach Jack Del Rio. "I appreciate Ken's passion and commitment to the Raiders since coming aboard and wish him the best going forward".
